Reboot when busy
We battled with it during two very busy days of dispensing and all we could do was keep apologising to everyone for the delays.
The main problem boiled down to the labels being printing out – either not at all, or with no quantity on them, or worst of all, with a completely different patient name to the one that we had entered.
The software company were pretty good at getting it sorted out, but it was the last straw when they kept asking us to re-boot the system at our peak time of dispensing.
The whole pharmacy team ended up very stressed and my usual wine consumption has definitely doubled this week.

Dee,
Aaahhh the problems of computers :p
A computer went kabutz at one of our busy shops (at 11:55am - just 5 minutes before the Unichem order cut-off time!). The power supply unit (where the cable from the mains to the computer meets at) had packed up.
I had to dash from another shop, do my diagnostics on the computer - explained this all to the Cegedim (we use Pharmacy Manager) helpdesk. This was at 12:15pm. They normally have a with 8 business hours call out, but we were priority since we had no computer....
By 2pm, the tech guy came in and replaced the PSU and all was great again :)
Now, this had a happy (and quick) ending because I was able to use my computer skills to fix problems with computers. However, in a busy enviroment and when the people in the pharmacies have no clue about computers, it can be really really stressful :( I can't be there all the time :(
Which brings to another topic - about ETP Release 2, and when paperless prescriptions become common. What happens about computer faults and electricity and power cut issues??
